Hilton in More Trouble With Authorities

Jail-bound Paris Hilton has had another run in with the law - she's been issued with a parking ticket. The troubled socialite was reportedly issued the fine in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon, after authorities noticed her vehicle had outstayed the allowed parking period. Hilton - who is due to start serving her sentence on Tuesday for violating the probation terms of her 2006 drunk-driving arrest - was busy painting in a nearby craft store when her car was slapped with the fine by traffic cops.

Meanwhile, Tmz.com reports that officials at Los Angeles' Century Regional Detention Center have already started preparations for the 26-year-old's stay - they've allegedly chosen her cell mate and issued a "written protocol" detailing "when and how things should be done for her."

Hilton To Serve Jail Time in Isolation

Socialite Paris Hilton will serve her upcoming jail time separate from the general inmate population, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has confirmed. Hilton received a 45 day jail sentenced for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license earlier this month - she will serve a minimum of 23 days. Officials have decided to house the 26-year-old celebrity in a "special needs housing unit" reserved for police officers, public officials, stars and other high-profile inmates.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore has warned news agencies against trying to infiltrate the jail to gain unauthorized pictures of Hilton. He says, "This is not an E-ticket ride at Disneyland. This is a serious matter. Anyone who takes advantage of this situation will face appropriate consequences." Hilton is currently in the process of appealing her jail sentence, which she must begin serving by June 5.

Hilton To Serve 23 Day Minimum Sentence

Socialite Paris Hilton will serve at least 23 days in jail for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department has announced. Hilton received a 45 day sentence earlier this month, but officials last week said she might be processed in and out of jail within hours due to overcrowding.

However, spokesman Steve Whitmore yesterday said, "The Sheriff's Department is announcing that Ms. Hilton will do a minimum of 23 days in jail. The possibility that she will be processed in and out in a day is over. She will do her full time, minus 22 days because of a state jail policy encouraging good inmate behavior." Hilton is currently in the process of appealing her jail sentence, which she must begin serving by June 5.

"Traumatized" Hilton Unable To Appear at Civil Trial

Socialite Paris Hilton is so "emotionally distraught and traumatized" since being sentenced to 45 days in jail, she cannot attend a civil trial which was set to start next Monday.

Psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy has filed a legal declaration in which he claims Hilton is "not capable of any meaningful participation" in the civil case brought against her by diamond heiress Zeta Graff. Graff has launched her $10 million suit against Hilton because of the "vicious lies" the hotel heiress spread about her that ended up being printed in the New York Post newspaper. But Sophy writes that Hilton's state of mind after being found guilty of violating her probation by driving with a suspended license means she "cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense."

The judge has postponed the trial until August 22, reports website Tmz.com.

Schwarzenegger "Too Busy" To Bother with Paris

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has refused to be drawn into Paris Hilton's jail appeal, insisting he has more pressing matters to deal with. The desperate socialite, who was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail earlier this month after violating terms of her 2006 drunk-driving arrest, has teamed up with a pal to pioneer an online petition begging the politician for a pardon.

The appeal, which is addressed to Schwarzenegger, claims "the American public who support Paris are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that drunk driving is wrong." Earlier last week Schwarzenegger's press secretary insisted it was premature to comment on the case, but his boss hinted on Friday her campaign was likely to end in disappointment.

Schwarzenegger said, "I've never got any request. But I have many more important things to think about."

Hilton Allowed To Drive Again

Paris Hilton is permitted to drive again - despite receiving a sentence for jail time last Friday for violating her probation by driving with a suspended license. The hotel heiress will begin a 45-day sentence next month but, according to the Department of Motor Vehicles, she's free to get behind the wheel of a car in the meantime. Hilton's license was suspended in November after a drink-driving arrest, but the organization claims it was reinstated at the end of March.

Veteran Dui attorney Lawrence Taylor says, "If her license was reinstated, she's perfectly okay to drive despite her probation violation. There's no problem with that."

Hilton: "I'm Ready To Face the Consequences"

Socialite Paris Hilton has hit back at criticism she is refusing to take responsibility for driving with a suspended license, insisting she is "ready to face the consequences." The 26-year-old is set to spend 45 days in a California correctional facility after she was found guilty in court last Friday of violating terms of her 2006 drink-driving arrest. At the hearing, Hilton claimed her long-term representative Elliot Mintz had repeatedly informed her that her license had been suspended for only 30 days and that she could still drive for work-related matters. But Hilton, who is in the process of appealing her jail sentence, wants to make clear she realizes how serious driving under the influence is.

She says: "After reading the media's coverage of my court hearing, I feel the need to correct what I believe are misperceptions about me. I absolutely realize how serious driving under the influence is. I could not live with myself if anyone was injured or killed while I was driving while impaired. Clearly, no one should - no matter how slightly. I am ready to face the consequences of violating probation. No one is above the law. I surely am not. I do not expect to be treated better than anyone else who violated probation. However, my hope is that I will not be treated worse."

Hilton Urges Fans To Help Keep Her Out of Jail

Paris Hilton is calling on her fans to help her stay out of jail - by endorsing an online petition they can sign. The desperate socialite, who was sentenced to serve 45 days in jail last week after violating terms of her 2006 drink-driving arrest, has teamed up with a pal called Joshua to urge fans to help her.

In a post on her MySpace blog, Hilton, who is also asking California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to pardon her, writes, "My friend Joshua started this petition. Please help and sign it. I love you all!" The petition, which is addressed to Schwarzenegger, claims "the American public who support Paris are shocked, dismayed and appalled by how Paris has been the person to be used as an example that drunk driving is wrong. She provides hope for young people all over the US and the world. She provides beauty and excitement to (most of) our otherwise mundane lives. If the late former President Gerald Ford could find it in his heart to pardon the late former President Richard Nixon after his mistake(s), we undeniably support Paris Hilton being pardoned for her honest mistake as well." Hilton is due to start serving time by June 5 if her appeal fails, after being sentenced at a hearing at Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

O'Donnell: "I Used To Drink and Drive"

Actress Rosie O'Donnell can empathize with Paris Hilton because she used to drink and drive. The Sleepless In Seattle star, 45, yesterday admitted she sometimes drove under the influence in her younger years - although there is no excuse for doing so.

Talking on TV show The View, O'Donnell said, "Many people drive drunk. If you asked people in this audience how many have ever driven when they've had too much to drink, nearly everybody would raise their hand. It doesn't make it the right thing to do, and hopefully as you get to be an adult... I remember being 21 years old coming home from gigs, totally not in any capacity to drive. Thanks God I didn't kill anyone or anyone else."

Hilton Appeals Jail Sentence

Socialite Paris Hilton has appealed the 45 day jail sentence handed to her after being found guilty of violating a probation order and driving with a suspended license. The 26-year-old's lawyers filed a one-page notice of appeal after her Los Angeles Superior Court hearing on Friday. The notice is the first stage towards an appeal and does not automatically guarantee one will take place.

The Simple Life star Hilton is currently due to spend 45 days in a California correctional facility. She has fired her longtime representative Elliot Mintz after he accepted partially responsibility for the strict sentence through misinformation.

Hilton: "I Don't Deserve Jail"

Paris Hilton is devastated with a Los Angeles judge's decision to sentence her to 45 days behind bars - insisting she "doesn't deserve this." The hotel heiress will serve just under seven weeks in a California jail cell, after she was found guilty for violating a probation order and driving with a suspended license in February. The 26-year-old fought back tears as the sentence was handed down to her at Los Angeles County Superior Court by Judge Michael T. Sauer on Friday, but by Saturday afternoon she was back in Beverly Hills, Hollywood, to apparently drown her sorrows with a bout of retail therapy. Earlier that morning, Paris bemoaned her fate to waiting paparazzi outside her LA home, according to the New York Daily News.

She said, "I told the truth yesterday. I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwanted and I don't deserve this." Hilton is due to begin her prison stint at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Los Angeles County on June 5.

Prosecutors Recommend Hilton Spend 45 Night in Jail

Socialite Paris Hilton should be jailed for 45 days for being in violation of her probation in relation to a drunk-driving arrest last September, according to prosecutors. A judge at Los Angeles Superior Court will review the recommendation, which was made in documents filed on Monday, when Hilton attends a probation violation hearing today. Prosecutors also want the hotel heiress to be banned from consuming alcohol for 90 days and that she wear a monitoring device to ensure she complies with this order.

Hilton, 26, was spotted driving along Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on February 28 without her headlights on. Her police stop showed Hilton had been sentenced the previous month to 36 months probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines after she pleaded no contest to alcohol-related reckless driving stemming from a September arrest.
